What is Senior Home Care?

Professional home care provides the assistance that seniors, the disabled or individuals with temporary or long-term health issues require to live independently, given the limits of their medical condition. Home care encompasses a wide range of service and can often delay the need for long-term nursing home care.

How long has your agency been serving your community?

Aelite Senior Home Care (formerly Caring Companions) has been serving Los Angeles, San Fernando, and Orange Counties since July of 2002.

Does the agency work with approved insurance providers?

As a non-medical provider, Aelite Senior Home Care services are not covered by Medicare. Services are only covered when a client has a long term care policy under private insurance.

Does the agency write a plan of care for the client? How is this formulated?

Yes; Aelite Senior Home Care bases the home care provided for each client using three components of input: physician input, patient input, and family input. First and foremost, MD orders and medical needs form the basis of our service. Secondly, the client's personal needs such as bathing and hygiene, household tasks and meal preparation are considered. Finally, when appropriate, we consult with the client's family for additional insights they may have to best care for their loved one. Based on that information, Aelite Care will formulate a comprehensive plan of care for the client.

How closely do supervisors oversee care to ensure quality?

Thorough oversight is a hallmark of Aelite Senior Home Care. All services provided by our caregivers are monitored by immediate supervisors and care managers, as well as our Executive Director.

Are agency staff members available around the clock, seven days a week, if necessary?

Aelite Care's caregivers work on a six-hour shift minimum for 3 days per week, or 8 hour
minimum for 2 days per week with round the clock care if needed. A Care Manager is available and on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What type of employee screening is done? How are agency caregivers hired and trained?

Aelite Senior Home Care conducts thorough background checks on all prospective employees, compete with reviews of professional credentials, work history and personal references. Equally important is the interview process in which we best determine the humanistic characteristics that are essential in selecting thoughtful, sensitive caregivers. We constantly monitor the care provided our clients by our staff, ensuring consistent, excellent care without exception.

How does the agency handle billing?

Aelite Senior Home Care bills for services provided on a bi-weekly basis.
